an easy stroll to beaches, art galleries, live theater, shops, restaurants and rugged ocean

Mendocino is a haven for artists, musicians and actors. During the day you can stroll
the streets of Mendocino, see dozens of Mendocino artists in their shops and studios.
And view or purchase their works and wares. In the evening you are likely to find local
theater productions in Mendocino's own Theater Company. Mendocino has an extraordinary

Mendocino Seaside Cottage enjoys the Headlands State Park as its front yard. The park
is near picturesque downtown Mendocino. The park features grass-covered headlands and a
beach, with access from the mouth of the Big River south of town. Trails are popular
with hikers and joggers. In winter, the park provides a site for whale watching. The
park, with its unique blend of gentle trails, rugged coastline, secluded beaches and
timeless history surrounds the Village of Mendocino on three sides. Three miles of
trails wind along the cliffs, giving the casual explorer spectacular views of sea arches
and hidden grottos. Photographers and painters frequently visit various parts of Mendocino
Headlands enjoying and capturing the scenic wonders.
